Toddler

Children aged 1 to 2 years old are called toddlers. This stage of development is marked by rapid improvements physically, socially and emotionally. Toddlers develop the skills they need to become independent. In terms of motor skills, children in the toddler years learn how to walk, hold or kick and ball, and using spoon and fork. Cognitive skills like speaking, recognizing pictures and responding to commands are also developed during this stage. It is also during this stage that a child learns to play, communicate with others and recognize themselves whether in a mirror or in pictures.
